Reference: See forum support

Plugin: Photoswipe for NextGEN gallery

Date: 2014-05-03
Status: working (confirmed by sweebee here)

Not yet confirmed by wpgetready. Only dependency seems to be nextgen-gallery submenu page. Apart from that, it should work.

Plugin:  EWWW Image Optimizer

Date: 2014-05-22
Status: working (fixed with version 1.9.0)

There was an issue with the way the plugin detection worked, but this is fixed now. See this thread.

Plugin: NextGen Public Uploader

Date: 2014-01-11
Status: working

This plugin was discussed here,  and version 1.8.2 should work with NextCellent

Plugin: NextGEN Gallery Optimizer

Date: 2014-05-05
Status: action required

This plugin has a hardcoded plugin detection. Aside that, it should work.

Workaround(s):

  • Rename NextCellent plugin folder to nextgen-gallery.
  • There is a workaround with some code changes (pending for publishing).

Plugin: NextGEN TinyMce Description

Date: 2014-09-27
Status: broken

This plugin is currently not working.

Hello! I just made a fork of the NextGen Gallery Search plugin ready for use with NextCellent. You can find it at http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextcellent-gallery-search/

The plugin is very useful if you have a large amount of galleries (>50) and do not want to browse through them all.

  2. Well done! I also have a plugin (not yet published) addressing the same scenario. It would be nice merge ideas to see what can be improved.

  3. Great to have the alternative way, good work! I would like to suggest NextGen PowerTags Plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery-powertags/ – what is a great tag based gallery filtering stuff for the old NextGen.
From today it is also compatible with NextCellent – tested on own site!
(the final combo is not deployed yet cause of the NextCellent css changes)
You may include it in your compatibility list… :)
